Take care of Nature

NATURE is at the center of our business and our concerns.

BOTANISTS' is a family-owned and independent company whose mission is to offer you products that leave the most positive impact on your lives and those of your family with the least impact on the planet.

We see this as an infinite virtuous circle in which we take care of nature so that nature takes care of us.

We respect nature’s cycles.

Our Mānuka honey is harvested with full respect for plant growth cycles and the natural activity of bees. Bees have only a short window of 4 to 6 weeks, between mid-December and late January (Southern Hemisphere spring), to collect nectar from wild Mānuka flowers and transform it into honey at the heart of the hive.

Weather conditions play a crucial role in the harvest: the flowering period must coincide with warm, dry weather so that bees can leave the hive and forage for nectar. When climatic conditions are not favourable during the flowering window, harvests are significantly impacted. As a result, the availability of some of our honeys may be limited.

We offset our CO₂ emissions.

Mānuka is an endemic plant native to New Zealand and grows nowhere else in the world. While we cannot shorten the distance between New Zealand and you, we can take action to compensate for our carbon emissions and significantly reduce our environmental impact.

We therefore fully offset all CO₂ emissions related to the transport of our products from New Zealand to you.

How does it work?

We exclusively prioritise slow transport methods (sea freight, rail and road). We calculate the CO₂ emissions generated by transporting our products from New Zealand to you. These emissions are then converted into carbon credits, which support environmental projects focused on reducing or sequestering greenhouse gases, in an amount equivalent to our emissions.

We are proud members of the 1% for the Planet collective.

Contributing, at our own scale, to the preservation of natural resources is essential to us. BOTANISTS’ is a member of the 1% for the Planet collective and, as such, donates 1% of its revenue to environmental organisations. We have chosen to support the work of the NGO Terre d’abeilles, founded in 2002 and recognised as being of public interest, dedicated to the protection of bees and other pollinators.
